WE ARE STRICT AND PICKY
this is not any old arrangement you can find online - it's based on your vision, your feedback, your opinion and wants, customized just for you just as you envision, we will revise until you are happy with it. It's your one day let's do it right!
THE THREAT OF RAIN IS ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY!!!!!!!
We'll need shade, so a large tent with 3 sides is now a requirement (because small top-only tents don't cover sunset rays from an angle).
We have no electric or microphone/speaker needs, we can adjust our acoustic volume softer/louder based on the space & number of people in attendance. Unlike acoustic guitars, violins, violas, and cellos are built for natural amplification from the curved structure and adjusted soundpost connecting the back and front of each hand-carved instrument. The string quartet will have the fullest sound so our volume outdoors is never an issue unless you are somehow getting married far away from our performance set-up like The Houstonian where there's an unmovable, beautiful gazebo that is perfect for our quartet (shade-wise & acoustically) that is quite a bit away from the actual wedding ceremony space (usually set up on the other far side of a large tree). That has been the only venue where a microphone and speaker was needed.
We don't require food for musicians, but we do require 2 chilled bottled waters per musician's chair (so 8 cold water bottles total)
If you are ready to secure the date, please begin the booking process by completing our detailed booking form here. We currently have a backlog of form submissions so it might take awhile to get your invoice drawn up for you, but as long as you are the first to fill out the form for your date, I will email back to confirm that you are tentatively pencilled in our calendar. Once we receive your signed invoice & deposit, the booking will be official in our books. Let us know if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Melody with Harmony Strings
